About Us
Hereford Regional Medical Center (HRMC)
is a full service rural health care facility operated by
the Deaf Smith County Hospital District. HRMC is
governed by an elected board of directors and licensed
by the Texas Department of State Health Services. HRMC
has been in operation since 1924 and is a member of the
Texas Organization of Rural and Community Hospitals and
the Coalition of Health Services.

Hereford Regional Medical Center
(formerly – Deaf Smith General Hospital) opened it’s
doors for the first time in 1921, when the old Carl home
on West Second Street was converted into a 21 bed public
hospital. Currently, HRMC is licensed as a 40-bed acute
care medical center, offering a unique combination of
technology, advanced facilities, innovative programs,
provided by a highly qualified and dedicated team of
professionals.
